Guitarist Taylor O'Connor, drummer Blair O'Connor, and new bassist Thomas Hart talk about the seamless transition of bringing Thomas into the band, how the pandemic and the addition of a new bass player helped change and mature their creative process, and how the connectivity of their improv has become tighter since their recent lineup transition. We chat about their new live album Live at Pine Ridge Festival (10.8.22) and we get to know Thomas a little better, he elaborates on his journey with music and shares some of his influences. Thomas talks about seeing Umphrey’s McGee for the first time and how their live show has inspired his playing. The guys recall the experience of playing an after-show after the recent UM show in Bethlehem, PA on January 15th and we fantasize about what it would be like if one of the guys from UM were to sit in during a future after-party show. The guys share their opinion of how UM has been playing in 2023 and how a band that’s still playing a quarter century later inspires them. They reflect on how everyone has grown over that time and so, so much more.
